Researchers at the University of Sydney in Australia invited students to test 38 different foods to find out which ones stave off hunger pangs longest of all. Using white bread as the baseline of 100, foods rating higher than 100 were judged to be more satisfying than white bread, while those under 100 were less satisfying. Foods that have a higher “satiety index” keep hunger down longer. Volunteers fed jelly beans seemed to want more – probably because they were so tasty – but they nevertheless ate very little afterwards. This resulted in jelly beans getting a satiety rating of 118 – higher than muesli and yoghurt, and the same as white pasta.

Contender Home Entertainment will release a DVD Boxset featuring all 12 episodes of both Moving Wallpaper and Echo Beach, along with a splendid range of extras including behind the scenes ‘molecam’ footage, outtakes, deleted and extended scenes. What Girlie Gossip Thought …
Echo Beach and Moving Wallpaper are probably two of the most refreshing shows to have hit our screens in a long time! We were hooked right from the very first episode. With the amazingly talented and funny Ben Miller starring in ‘Moving Wallpaper’ it has definately become our favourite of the two shows. We must confess it is great to tune into Echo Beach straight afterwards though and spot all the little ‘in jokes’ that were mentioned in Moving Wallpaper and the Chemistry between Jason Donovan and Martine McCutcheon is brilliant to watch! Looking forward to seeing how the showprogresses and can’t wait for series 2!
