2011 Day Trip Fun At Madame Tussauds!

Millions and millions of people have flocked through the doors of Madame Tussauds since they first opened over 200 years ago and it remains just as popular as it ever was. There are many reasons for this enduring success, but at the heart of it all is good, old-fashioned curiosity.
Today’s visitors are sent on a unique, emotionally-charged journey through the realms of the powerful and famous. The museum-style ropes and poles have gone so guests can truly get up, close and personal with A-list celebrities, sporting legends, political heavyweights and historical icons, reliving the times, events and moments that made the world talk about them….

One of the most recent celebrities to be featured in late December was Lady Gaga, the figure is featured standing centre stage in the interactive music zone. She wears the gigantic Philip Treacy telephone hat she sported on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross in March 2010, recreated especially for the attraction by the world famous milliner. The unique headpiece is teamed with the custom-made Giorgio Armani Privé midnight blue outfit, featuring a double-breasted jacket with wide lapels, pagoda-style shoulders, flared trousers and towering heels.

A whole host of other celebrities and A-Listers waxworks make this an ideal day out for 2011 and great fun for all of the family.

To see the New Year in with a bang, we sent London based contributor Adam White to see just how much fun you can have in one day at Madame Tussauds. We think you’ll agree, judging by the gallery below, that he had a great day! Highlights included holding hands with Iron Man, attempted break-in to number 10 (it’s not big, and its not clever, kids!) playing rock, paper, scissors with Hitler (erm!) and an on stage moment of confusion with funnyman Jim Carrey.

We can only thank goodness that it wasn’t real celebrities he was stalking!
