Always wear sunscreen

Far too few people realize it, but even when it isn’t sunny, your skin is still prone to the sun’s harmful rays. The leading cause of aging skin is sun damage; that’s why it is so important to use sunscreen every day.

Before leaving the house, each morning, moisturize your face and then apply at least SPF 30 to your face and exposed areas of the neck. The delicate areas around your eyes and lips are prone to sun damage, so it’s important to protect them with a specialist SPF lip balm.

Eat lots of veggies

That old saying, ‘You are what you eat’, applies here. Your skin is affected by the foods you eat, if you eat an unhealthy diet, then it stands to reason that your skin will be unhealthy. And the more unhealthy your skin is, the more prone to aging you will be.

A balanced diet, high in lots of fruits and veggies is ideal. Foods with high vitamin content, like oranges, kale, and spinach, are all ideal for healthy skin. For softer and more subtle skin, eat more omega three – salmon, walnuts, tuna, and squashes all contain lots of omega three.

Get specialist care

Don’t make the mistake of trying to take care of your skin’s health all yourself. If there is something you are unsure about, consult a specialist. If you have noticed that your skin has started to sag, you might want to consider seeing a skin tightening specialist.

There are so many amazing skin treatment options available, that are all sorts of aging skin treatments out there. From invasive procedures to nonsurgical treatments, there are lots of options for keeping skin healthy.

Don’t smoke

You may not realize it, but if you smoke you will age much more quickly than people who don’t smoke. This is because the chemicals in the cigarettes, such as nicotine, affect the health of your skin.

For example, nicotine affects the levels of elastin and collagen, making the skin sag and lose its elasticity.

These are just a few ways you can keep your skin healthy and looking as young as possible.
