Book Review - Russell Brand ‘ My Booky Wook ‘

January 4, 2008

Book Description

‘My biggest problem is that I’ve lived an autobiography rather than a life.’

Russell Brand’s scandalous reminiscences were always going to have a literary flavour. But nothing you’ve heard him say on stage, radio or TV can prepare you for the impact of this beautifully written memoir.

From his troubled childhood in Essex and his addictions to drink, drugs and sex, to his giddy rise through the world of entertainment, this is not simply a story of fame but of redemption, achingly and hilariously honest throughout.

What Girlie Gossip Thought

Here at Girlie Gossip we are big fans of Russell Brand and his unique style of standup comedy, so it came as no surprise that we thought his book ‘My Booky Wook’ was brilliant! It was refreshing to read an honest and interesting biography from one of our current best bristish comedians and it seemed to provide a great mix of both serious issues and light hearted banter. Perfect for Russell Brand fans everywhere as it really gives a great insight into his life and what has made him the person he is today.

Well worth a read!!

I’m not overly keen on this guy, but maybe after reading this review I can see his book might be worth a read.
