It is, in fact, a no show…o dear

AFTER Girls Aloud decided to go on a year-long break the least Cheryl Cole and Sarah Harding could do is turn up to some soiree that Kimberly, Nicola and Nadine had made such an effort for.  The Something Kinda Oo girl band had arranged a special screening of their new tour DVD.  Apparently the organisers had to delay the screening time only to find out the X factor judge and her party animal sidekick weren’t going to attend.  Tut tut!
If this was me, which it never would be because a) The last time I checked I was a man and b) well a) sort of killed off the point of b), I would be peeved that ‘all’ my friends and family had turned up to a swanky May Fair hotel and there were a couple of no shows!  Maybe Cheryl and Sarah had something better to do or maybe they were genuinely tied up elsewhere…you make your own decision on the matter that is if you even care.  There is definitely some major explaining to be done on the matter, where were you Girls?

Cider, some more cider and Bianca Gascoigne?

WHAT is the best way to get over your late wife?  According to Jack Tweed it is to go out and get trollied (I think that is some northern way of saying really drunk).  He was seen at this week’s Nokia Skate Almighty disco gripping what can only be described as alcoholic fizzy apple juice aka cider, errr!  It seems like it is not only alcohol that Tweed is looking to for comfort, on the same night he allegedly spent a lot of time flirting with Bianca Gascoigne.  I guess everyone has their own way of grieving, obviously that Tweeds seems to be excessive partying.  Fair play!

The legend that is John Hughes

REMEMBER the 80s?  A decade of roller discos and ‘out there’ outfits (Austin Powers comes to mind) or what about films of the decade such as The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.  Well, sadly the director who brought us such remembered films has died.  John Hughes, 59, suffered a fatal heart attack whilst on a walk in New York.  Rest in Peace.

Beckham bigger than biggest fashion label

FASHION news shock!  Victoria Beckham will not be renewing her contract with Armani.  I said Victoria Beckham WILL NOT be renewing her contract with Giorgio Armani, just in case you misread that.  The 35-year-old was earning an estimated 12 million pounds a year to show off her body in a series of saucy shots alongside husband David Beckham.  Now could this be because she has been announced as the latest name on the judging panel of X Factor…O wait I mean American Idol sorry, I get so confused sometimes it must because they are so different.  Apparently it is to concentrate on her latest fashion range, well we say good for her, 35 years old and all this going on sounds great but some down time would be nice too.

However, it is rumoured that Megan Fox is to replace her so how would she feel if her husband was tangling up with the Fox?

X Factor everywhere!

There is a lot of X Factor goss at moment and quite frankly we love it!  LAST week we announced that TV genius, Simon Cowell is trying to rope Madonna into X Factor for a bit of mentoring.  Well this week we are announcing that he has got Robbie Williams to come on the Saturday night hit reality TV series.

Robbie is looking to this as part of his big music comeback since being out in America.  The Angels star, who used to be part of Take That many many years ago, will follow in the footsteps of his ex-band mates and others such as Westlife, Britney Spears and Beyonce to mentor the X Factor finalists.  The wannabe popstars will perform hits like She’s The One and Let me Entertain You.  Well Robbie Williams will be pleased won’t he especially when he has previously admitted to watching X Factor and lovin’ it!  But who doesn’t?

‘Woaaahhhhowww mysterious Sunday newspaper I want to get close to your bank’

MYSTERIOUS GIRL singer Peter Andre absolutely loves the media attention at the moment; I bet it feels a bit like Christmas when you were a child opening that all important tricycle.  Nothing else mattered as long as you got the present you asked for.

There has been him splitting up with Katie Price, or is it Jordan now they aren’t together, who actually knows.  Then there was him releasing his new single ‘Behind Closes Doors’ recently, which I am sure he was miming at T4 on the Beach, Oh yeah and talking of that festival that is actually on a beach there is him falling off stage, although he does pull it back and do it with some panache (doesn’t he?).  Now it has been reported he has won a legal battle against a Sunday newspaper that claimed he had some sort of fondle with a Jordan look-alike back in May (think that confirms we are going with Jordan then).

Pete, as Jordan used to call him on their hit reality TV show Katie and Peter, accepted libel damages earlier this week.  Peter did ensure the media that he was never unfaithful to his wife.  Well that’s not what she is saying!  So who do you believe the man who brought us fake muscles dancing in the sea on a music video with the lyrics ‘mysterious girl I want to get close to you’ (charming!)  OR the woman who, over the years, has brought us a fake chest and face plastered all over lads mags!  I will tell you something, I am staying well out of it but well done Mr Peter Andre for winning your libel case!

Radcliffe loves nudity…FACT!

NOW THEN, here is one that may make you a bit hot under that sweater of yours.  HARRY POTTER’S leading star, Daniel Radcliffe has admitted that when he was a teenager he used to enjoy walking around his house naked.  Didn’t we all?  Well this is a bit different; his parents inspired him to do so!  He also admitted to seeing his mum and dad naked.  Now I don’t know about you but I walked in on my mum getting changed once and as a result was taken to hospital because I had fainted and needed medical assistance.  Don’t get me wrong nakedness is great, but in the privacy of your own room.  Let’s not forget the Potter actor went nude in the West End show Equus back in 2007.  So his teenage nudity experiences served him well.
However is there any need for Mr Radcliffe over here to go flashing his guns all the time, actually I am sure most of you single girls or even coupled girls as well would very much like that.  However I say put your pecks away Radcliffe and bring us the next Potter film.

We can’t keep the Americans away, they love it!

Through a great number of films this actor has lived on the Atlantic, on a beach and in South Africa.  NOW Leonardo DiCaprio is apparently looking for a home in the UK.  As you read this you are probably thinking ‘you can come and stay with me’.  We all wish we could have a celeb as a housemate, especially this one.  However, Leo has chosen fame over fan (I’m sorry, I tried my best) by turning to filmmaker Guy Ritchie for advice on choosing a house, who brought us films such as RocknRolla and the infamous Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels .

Obviously these kind of films bring the money in and two celebs putting their heads together to come up with a place to live couldn’t just be a sit down chat with a Starbucks coffee.  O no no no, these two allegedly headed over to Whisky Mist where they knocked up a £10,000 bill spent on champagne and tequila.  Phew I’m glad I didn’t try harder to get him as a housemate, tequila isn’t the best drink out there.

Leo’s next film will see him teamed up with Christopher Nolan for Inception.

Queen of Pop is the chosen one

THE GLOVES are on, she has been chosen!  The demon of all judges in the reality talent TV world, Simon Cowell is looking to sign one of the world’s best known faces for the massively popular Saturday night show – X Factor.  This right here is major news, Cowell being the forthright man that he is, has gone straight to the show bosses and asked them to find extra money for a deal with the pop queen Madonna.
She would be one of the guest mentors helping push contestants through stages of the competition.  It is basically the same as what Westlife, Britney Spears, Take That and Beyonce have done previously on the show.  Lets face it this also raises ratings through the roof, keeping ITV very happy people.  This Simon Cowell fella is a clever man, he knows how to win the audience over with style.
The idea is to keep rivalling the other reality talent TV show, Strictly Come Dancing on the BBC.  Oooooo how exciting an ITV v BBC showdown, this will make great television for 2009/2010, especially with Alesha Dixon coming to Strictly.
However with Madonna currently on tour whilst planning a family trip to the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem and releasing her greatest hits album, both at the end of the month, can she manage the hustle and bustle of possibly the greatest talent TV show on our screens to date?  Only time will tell.

Late King of Pop set for Oscar – is it even possible?

HOW CRAZY is this, Michael Jackson may win an Oscar.  He truly is the King of Pop; even though he died several weeks ago he is still making history.  Throughout his career he dipped in and out of some acting roles and even planned to become a film director later through his career.

Moving onto the important bit, this is how the late MJ may win his Oscar next year – whilst the singer was rehearsing for his endless list of gigs at London’s O2 he was being filmed and this footage will be used in a documentary. The film or documentary, as the cool kids like to call it, will cost around £40million and funded by Sony.  Now the most exciting bit is what this will include, well let me be the person to tell you – as well as the never-before-seen rehearsal footage there will be three new music videos and a digitally enhanced version of Thriller.  For a money making scheme this is pure genius, people will come in their thousands even millions to see MJ on the big screen.  Fans will want to know how he was in the last days of his life.

This bizarre story of the King of Pop, the man who had the biggest global audience, is continuing even after his death.  What on earth will his corpse bring us next…

It seems that Angelina Jolie has finally given birth to twins in the last couple of days. Husband Brad Pitt was present at the Caesarean birth to twins weighing in at around 5lbs each. The healthy little girl and boy are named Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline both said to be named after Brad and Angelina’s relatives.

The first photo of the babies has already been sold to a US paper for 5.5 million, all of which will go to charity. I must admit, if there’s one thing about Brad and Angelina I admire it’s their tireless efforts for charities around the world. The amount of money they have both donated must have done some serious good.

I wonder how many more children the couple plan on having. Enough for a football team maybe? Or perhaps they are going for world domination …. Just a thought!

Our thoughts go out to Patrick Swayze and his family right now as news breaks that he has developed Pancreatic Cancer. Reports began to surface earlier today that the star had just weeks to live and gossip blogger Perez Hilton has just published news from Swayze’s publicist who confirms what we had all been dreading: Patrick has cancer. Anyone who grew up with the films Dirty Dancing and Ghost amongst others will surely have a soft spot for the star and we can only send our loving thoughts to friends, family and those who known him personally. This really could be the end of an era. We hope for pain free recovery for a true gem of an entertainer whose movie roles undoubtedly touched the lives of an entire generation of women worldwide.

Here’s the official statement:

“Actor Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Patrick’s physician Dr. George Fisher states, ‘Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.’ Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family.”

Disney is celebrating it’s ‘Year of a Million Dreams’ by recruiting celebrities and movie stars to pose in a series of amazing pictures shot by acclaimed photographer Annie Leibovitz. The Peter Pan image features Gisele as Wendy Darling also stars Tina Fey as Tinkerbell and Mikhail Baryshnikov (better known to us lot as Alexandra Petrovsky from SATC) as Peter Pan. Marc Antony and Jennifer Lopez do ‘A Whole New World’ as Aladdin and Jasmine. Jessica Biel is Pocahontas and Whoopie Goldberg as the Genie hanging onto the back of the magic carpet. The 28-year-old had reportedly been battling an addiction to drugs – including heroin – for some time, and even received treatment in rehab for his problem late last year.

A housekeeper at Ledger’s apartment found him lying face down on a bed at 3.20pm on Tuesday afternoon – it is understood that, at this point, the actor was still alive but unconscious. Gossip website tmz.com reported that the actor was in cardiac arrest when emergency services arrived on the scene.

A police spokeswoman said: ‘He was found unconscious at the apartment and pronounced dead.’

She also said that sleeping pills – both prescription medication and non-prescription – were found in the vicinity of Heath’s body, and that they are treating his death as possible suicide or an accidental overdose. A full autopsy will be carried out today.

Ledger, who was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in Brokeback Mountain, has a two-year-old daughter Matilda with his ex-fiancée Michelle Williams. The pair split last September, and it is said that Heath was coping badly with the breakdown of their relationship.

One source told the Daily Mail: ‘Heath was shattered by his split from Michelle. He became a recluse. He barely slept and he was dealing with terrible mood swings.’

Another source revealed: ‘Heath totally wanted to be on his own these past few months since he and Michelle split in September. She was very much in love with him, but the fact he continued to dabble in drugs kept their relationship from being one she could rely on.

‘He adored his daughter Matilda, and when Michelle called it quits, he missed Matilda so much that he was thrown into a deep dark depression.

‘Heath was living in New York to be close to his daughter. But he hardly ever ventured out anymore.’

He added: ‘His close friend and Brokeback co-star, Jake Gyllenhaal, has been worried about him for months. And he knew Heath was sinking further into a depression. Jake is Matilda’s godfather, and he and Heath had become really close since they did the film Brokeback together.

‘Jake wanted Heath to get help, but he refused, and now it looks as though he may have died of a drug overdose.

‘Michelle will be devastated by the news, because she always hoped he would get help and they could manage to work out their relationship for the sake of their daughter.’

Other actors have already been paying their respects. Nicole Kidman, best friend of his ex-girlfiend Naomi Watts, said: ‘What a terrible tragedy. My heart goes out to Heath’s family.’ And his The Patriot co-star, Mel Gibson, said: ‘I had such great hope for him. He was just taking off and to lose his life at such a young age is a tragic loss. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.’

Ledger was in the middle of filming the Terry Gilliam movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus at the time of his death, and can currently be seen on-screen as Bob Dylan, alongside Cate Blanchett and Richard Gere.

As well as his parents and daughter Matilda, the Perth-born actor is also survived by his sister Katherine, and half-sisters Olivia Ledger and Ashleigh Bell.
