Although we know some people are saving on costs by inviting people to their wedding on Facebook, there are two issues you’ll have to face if you do this. First, despite what you might believe, not everyone has Facebook. There’s a good chance someone important will be left off the guest list. Second,, this does get your wedding off to a rather unattractive, lazy start.

Instead, you should go with tradition and send out wedding invites by post. Or, you can send out E-vites but make sure you put some effort into designing them. If you want to save on costs, you can design and make your invites yourself. All you need is some card and ribbon, and you can make a beautiful invitation. You should send out the invites as quickly as possible, so you know exactly who is attending the wedding.

Planning The Ceremony

Your next step is the big one. You’ve got to think about everything you need for the ceremony and of course, you’re first step is going to be booking the venue. You might have had your dream venue in your mind for years. It might have been an old church by where you grew up or a beach in an exotic location. If that’s the case, you should start planning and booking immediately. If not, then it’s time to go hunting for a venue. When looking for the location of your wedding ceremony, be sure they are able to offer you everything that you need. For instance, if you book a venue that is not a church you will often not be able to read any verses from the Bible. If this is important to you, you may want to instead plan a church wedding.

Once you have the venue, it’s about making sure the little details fall into place. For instance, you need to choose the song that will play as you walk down the aisle. This does not need to be the wedding march and can be something unique to you.

Planning The Reception

The reception is more for the guests than the bride and groom. You will have to make sure they are catered for quite literally. For instance, you will need to arrange food and drink for your guests. Many people opt to plan a buffet to save on costs of catering. But, if you are having cooked meals, you will need waiters.
