Go mad in Madrid
Madrid’s Festival de Otoño takes place in October, offering a heady choice of dance, music and theatre from all over the world. The big events are held in the capital’s main theatres, which include Teatro de la Zarzuela, Teatro Madrid, the Círculo de Bellas Artes and Teatro Albéniz. www.madrid.org.


World music in Seville

Roots in Murcia

Bull fighting festival in Ronda
The Feria Goyesca de Pedro Romero in Ronda takes place in the first week of September when locals and matadors at the weekend bullfight dress in traditional 18th century costumes to celebrate the life of legendary bullfighter Francisco Romero. Grape harvest celebrations in Rioja
Logroño, the centre of the Rioja wine region, marks the annual grape harvest with the Fiesta de San Mateo which includes food and wine events, fireworks, music and traditional dance performances. This year’s fiesta takes place on 21 September. www.tourspain.co.uk
