Both men and women shed 100 single hairs every day! The most of which falls out when the hair is washed or brushed, and this is perfectly normal; it grows back! For some people though, that is not the case. 40% of men suffer from noticeable hair loss by age 35, 65% by age 60, and an incredible 80% by the time they reach 80 years old.
Whilst hair loss might be a problem predominately associated with men, women can be affected too. 50% of women over the age of 65 in fact, experience female-pattern baldness. Hair loss is a great cause of anxiety and embarrassment regardless of the underlying cause, be it medical or genetic. 60% of those who suffer from hair loss would choose to have more hair over more money or more friends.

Wearing hats often can cause hair loss!
Unless the hair is too tight it is cutting off circulation to hair follicles, you will be fine. It will not lead to hair loss.
Frequent hair washing or using hair products can cause baldness!
Before landing on our bathroom shelves shampoos and conditioners and hairsprays and mousses, have undergone rigorous tests and are completely safe to use on the hair. Overuse will not lead to hair loss.
Stress can cause hair to fall out and cause baldness!
Male pattern baldness, the most common form of hair loss, is a genetic condition and will not be affected by stress levels. There is evidence which does suggest, however, that extreme levels of stress can lead to hair loss conditions like Alopecia.
Over-exposure to the sun can cause hair to fall out!
Whilst the sun can damage and weaken your hair it will not cause hair loss.
Cutting hair makes it grow back quicker!
It is a common misconception that hair grows back thicker and quicker the more it is cut. This is simply not the case. Hair grows on average half an inch per month regardless.
Blow drying can cause your hair to fall out!
Blow drying your hair can dry out and damage your hair which could, in turn, lead to shredding, it will not cause hair loss. Your hair will grow back and there will be no lasting damage.
