In this week’s The City, Erin’s whirlwind romance with her Canadian dream-boat leaves Whitney feeling a little pushed out of the apartment. But hey, that’s not a problem when you have… a 30th floor Gramercy abode waiting, so swanky it makes LC’s LA villa look like a simple hovel!
Sadly, a girl can’t have it all and Jay continues to send Whitney signals so mixed they make Justin-Bobby seem like a classic gentleman. Olivia however, manages to thaw her ice-queen persona just enough to lend Whitney some useful relationship advice. Meanwhile at work, the girls prepare to throw a party launching Diane Von Furstenberg’s superhero collection and comic, with Whitters gaining the seal of approval from DVF herself.
Taking her lead from the strong silhouetted jackets featured in the collection, in this week’s episode, Whitney sports a selection of cute jackets including a ruffle-necked, white nip-waisted jacket for dinner with Jay, and a classic black blazer with a floral dress for a smarter work look.
Sartorial queens of New York, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are in on the act with their gorgeous selection of jackets for their label, Elizabeth and James. The ruched detail on the sleeves of this blazer , £314 from Mywardrobe.com, add a relaxed touch to this otherwise dressy look.
A jacket line-up would not be complete without an appearance from the classic tuxedo. If you can’t stretch to a vintage YSL , you could do a lot worse than this longline black tuxedo jacket , £45 from Miss Selfridge, which would look great over a thigh-skimming floral dress a la Whitney.
If you’re feeling optimistic about the imminence of spring, New Look have a rather nice embroidered short sleeve jacket for only £25. Might be worth packing an extra cardigan when venturing out in this though!
