Peacocks, the UK’s leading value retailer reports a 95 per cent increase (w/c. 28.02 compared to w/c. 21.02) in sales of fascinators, after Kate showcased the bridal classic during last week’s visit to the Trearddur Bay Lifeboat Station.
Following Kate and William’s first official public appearance since announcing their engagement, sales of feather fascinators have flown off the shelves and have sold nearly 20 TIMES the amount than that of the previous week at Peacocks’ stores and online.
For the first time, Peacocks’ brown feather fascinator £5 – similar to the £250 Vivien Sheriff embellishment sported by Kate – challenged the value retailer’s trademark peacock fascinator to win best selling accessory.
Peacocks has the royal wedding under close watch. Its internationally famed £14 Royal Blue dress was an instant sellout, inspired by the dress the world’s most famous bride-to-be wore at her official engagement.
The fashion retailer has also confirmed the launch of a collection of jewellery, inspired by Kate’s engagement ring, which is expected to be an instant sell out for Kate and Diana fans, or fashionistas looking to find their way to their very own Prince Charming. The collection of blue crystal and diamante earrings, pendent and cocktail ring will go on sale next month for £4.50 per piece.

Fascinator sales were definitely on the wane, however we’re now looking forward to frou frou feathered creations being back for the summer and we’re expecting sales to rise and rise.”
