RIP Patrick Swayze

The sad news has recently been reported that much loved actor Patrick Swayze has sadly lost his 20 month battle with pancreatic cancer. His publicist confirmed the following statement “Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months.”

Patrick will forever live on deep within the hearts of generations of women (and men) as Johnny Castle in Dirty Dancing and Sam Wheat (Ghost) in these classic characters that he brought to life like no other.

Whoopi Goldberg made a touching tribute to her friend and co-star last night saying that she believed in the message from Ghost “so he’ll always be near”

Today truly does mark the end of an era for a man who defied the media and fought cancer long, hard and bravely for 20 months despite reports saying he had just 2 weeks to live.

RIP Patrick, you will be missed.
