Oh, and maybe because sometimes nice companies give them luxurious products to review … yeah, other than that they totally love us. Honest!
Girlie Gossip Editor - Hi I’m Rebecca Bowden, a 27 year old freelance entertainment writer based in the UK. I live in a small seaside town in Somerset with my husband and our beautiful 6 yr old daughter. I’m passionate about movies, theatre and celebrity gossip. They are all a huge part of my life in many different ways. I have run my own successful entertainment websites for the last 5 years or so and have had some amazing opportunities to work with and interview some great people from all areas of media including various actors, singers and authors. I also do some freelance PR work which means I literally eat sleep and breathe the entertainment world and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I admire honesty, sarcasm, wit and people who aren’t afraid to speak their own mind and am annoyed by self centred and un-helpful people. I love the work of Wes Craven, Quentin Tarantino and am also a sucker for the odd ‘Chic Flic’ or Romantic Comedy. I have one daughter (totally hand reared by myself) lol, and live near Epping Forest in Essex. I used to sing in a band and run a recruitment agency.
I have just finished a law degree and am interested in consumer law and land law in particular. I love Fashion, Makeup, Theatre, Arts, Music Festivals, History, Movie Mad and the internet. I like to travel and intend to do more of this as my daughter gets older.
Charlie Hurt – Staff Writer (Music, Men’s Stuff!) Found in a carrier bag on Camden High Street in 1973, Charlie was raised by Mormons until rescued by a rogue band of Marxist revolutionaries and spirited away to their secret base. In 1984 he broke the world record for continuous self abuse and was awarded an honouree degree from the University of Haiti. Tiring of the jet set life and travelling the world by 2005 Charlie was back in London teaching pigeons Kung fu in a Government sponsored attempt to lower the capitols squirrel population. Now in 2008 he lives in the northwest of England, making music and occasionally writing stuff down…..
Laura Mitchell – Lifestyle & Entertainment - Hi, I’m Laura. I’m 21 years old and currently spend most of my time in Bournemouth where I’m a second year Multi-Media Journalism student at Bournemouth University. Alongside my course (which is hard work but wonderful!) I’m Features Editor for the Uni student magazine Nerve When I’ve not got my head in a text-book or a pressing essay deadline, I enjoy shopping, partying, spending time with my friends and family, going to the theatre/cinema, singing and reading. I’d describe myself as a happy, honest, bubbly, girly girl obsessed with pink- if it comes in pink, I’ll generally take it! I love flowers, fairy lights, chick-flicks and seem to drink an unhealthy amount of tea! Despite finishing University in a year, I’ve still got no 100% clear idea of what I’d like to do- my ambitions change regularly but some of my lifetime goals include; writing a (bestselling!) book, working at Disneyland, presenting on TV and one day, being bought a Tiffany ring!
Anna Louise – Entertainment Writer – My name is Anna-Louise Richards; I was born and bred in Cornwall but have since left to start a publishing career in the capital of Wales, Cardiff. I have lived on this earth for 21 years where I spent most of my time aspiring to be an actress, however, since going to University to study Media and Performance I was quick to realise I quite enjoyed writing when I wasn’t being forced to do so by teachers and majored my degree on Journalism subjects. I love the beach and all things surrounding it, from surfing to tanning to volleyball; I love to eat out, my favourite restaurants being Nando’s and Strada; I love my boyfriend and the life we have set up together; I love to read, Harry Potter and Twilight being at the top of the list, Cecilia Ahern following close behind, with Jackie Collins also high up there; most of all though I love to write and am currently working on my own novel! It’s all in my head – the trouble is getting it down on paper word perfect and matching the insane images rattling through my head.
Sarah Kwong – Hey there, I’m Sarah, a 19 year old fashion student, originally from Somerset. I’m currently studying Fashion Journalism in Southampton and absolutely adore it! Writing is my biggest passion and I hope to have a career within feature writing. I also write my own regular blog [www.s-is-for-super.blogspot.com] I’ve completed work placements with The Times and GQ [men, yum!] and love the fast paced lifestyle this industry provides! I’m also a contemporary dancer; dance has always been one of my passions. Alongside this, I love music, fashion [obviously!], socialising, comedy, eating [guilty as charged], exercising [less guilty now], interior designs [what's more exciting than getting new furniture?!] and summer [when it's not rain city!]. Some of my life goals are: buy a Chanel 2.55 bag, be a features writer and also have my own column, do a tandem sky dive, perform on stage at least one more time and cook something that is edible [and not just for the dog]
