OUR REVIEW
The Lucky One sees Zac Effron go from High School Musical star to hot movie hunk! He’s definitely come of age in this film and his whole personality and stance seems to reflect this. If you watch the Blu Ray special features you’ll see that Zac put a LOT of effort in to nailing this role, he even trained alongside real marines and this probably has a lot to do with his serious, believable performance throughout the entire film.
The storyline is not your average ‘boy meets girl’ romance, it has a more dramatic undertone and elements of intensity that you really don’t expect. The romantic scenes themselves are engaging, well thought out and Zac’s on screen chemistry with leading lady Taylor Schilling is both electrifying and utterly believable.
A great romantic drama that is most definitely one for the collection!
