How would you cope with being one of three wives to your devoted husband, competing for his time and affection?  Find out what it would be like the easier way as multiple Emmy® Award and Golden Globe® Award nominee BIG LOVE finally finds itself wed to DVD as The Complete First Season debuts on 13 October 2008 from HBO Video. All 12 episodes and exclusive special features will be presented across 5 discs at the family value price of £39.99 RRP.

Intriguing, quirky and wholly original, BIG LOVE is an exciting contemporary new HBO series whose provocative, offbeat subject matter, coupled with its high-profile cast and producers, make it a unique and highly-collectible show in the vein of Six Feet Under.  With three times the love, intrigue and betrayal, Big Love is a family drama like you’ve never seen before.

The series, as broadcast on five tells the story of Bill Henrickson (Bill Paxton), a practicing polygamist who lives in suburban Salt Lake City with his three wives and seven children.  An independent businessman who runs a growing chain of hardware stores, Bill faces a myriad of challenges in meeting the emotional, romantic and financial needs of his wives – Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn – Basic Instinct), Nicki (Chloë Sevigny – Boys Don’t Cry) and Margene (Ginnifer Goodwin – Walk the Line).

The DVD set will include the special features;
•    Two Audio Commentaries

    My ex was always very romantic… on valentines day he bought a heart necklace, organised a trip to a posh Italian and even ordered fireworks to mark the day. One was a big heart firework but sadly it went so far up in the sky i never got to see it!

    When our first daughter was born by caesarean and i was breastfeeding and exhausted and he had to leave me to go back to work he would make up some sandwiches for me to have at lunchtime and would leave little notes in them thaking me for our daughter and telling me what a great Mum I was etc.. and believe me when you are in agony, have had no sleep for what seems like forever and are adjusting to Motherhood that is the most romantic gift on the planet.

    When I was pregnant with our eldest, late one night I started to crave fresh pineapple. No 24 hour shops in the area so I could not get any. We didn’t have a car at the time but at 3 am he walked the 5 miles to the wholesale fruit market and walked back so the pineapple was there for me when I woke up.

    On our first date, he told me that I was what sleeping beauty would have been like if she woke up! He’s stayed that corny and sweet ever since and it’s now 21 years and two kids later and he still lets me sleep in on sundays and wakes me with breakfast in bed calling me “sleeping beauty” every week.

  • missevans says:

    When he went to Africa for three weeks, I had just got to the point of reeeeally missing him, and some flowers arrived at my work. He’d ordered them to come exactly halfway through the holiday so I’d remember he was missing me too! Bless!

    For my 24th birthday my now fiance took me to Paris for a 5 day surprise romantic getaway. On the day of my birthday he took me to the Eiffel Tower and surprised me, as he had booked a table in a very classy restaurant ON the Eiffel Tower. Halfway through our meal he brought out a ring and proposed to me in front of all the other people dining there! Then he took me on a romantic tour of Paris and the day after he took me for three days to EuroDisney. It was the perfect birthday surprise and we are now getting married next July.

    For our first Christmas together my Fiance booked a secret holiday for us both to Lapland. He packed our suitcases, borrowed my passport and told me to buy a warm coat. That same day he drove us both to the airport and only when the boards said ‘Sarriselka – Lapland’ did I know where I was going! We had the most amazing time ever. On Christmas day we saw Santa and my Fiance got down on one knee in the snow and asked me to marry him! It was a dream come true.
