Going on holiday with the girls is the best! But if you are like me and my girlfriends, you’ve probably fallen into a bit of a holiday rut. Do you and your friends travel to the same place, stay in the same accommodation, and do the same activities each year? Perhaps it’s time to freshen things up and plan a different kind of holiday this year. After all, there is nothing like the thrill of travelling somewhere you’ve never been before! Here are my top tips for planning an extra special holiday for you and the girls.
Be adventurous with your destination
There are a number of destinations that are popular with girls’ holidays. But don’t narrow your options to just these locations. Spread your wings and be adventurous with your choice. For example, if you have a decent budget, Bali is a fantastic destination to consider. You and your friends could stay in a two bedroom villa in Seminyak; a very luxurious region of the island. Bali is beautiful, rich in culture and very affordable. Or, for somewhere closer to home, how about a beach holiday in Sweden? The climate is great, the scenery is stunning and the cuisine is delicious.
Explore your accommodation options
Your accommodation isn’t just where you go to sleep at night; it plays a much bigger role in the overall enjoyment of your holiday. Hotels are the usual choice for holiday accommodation. But these days there are so many different types of accommodation to explore, in seems a shame not to! For example, you might want to consider self-catered accommodation, hostels, B&Bs and camping. Additionally, there are lots of quirky options like treehouses, forest lodges, caves, houseboats, castles, and the list goes on. When you come to booking your holiday accommodation, explore all the possibilities and find something unique.
Plan an activity you’ve never done before
One of the best things about going on holiday as you get lots of opportunities to try out activities you’ve never done before. For example, you and your friends could arrange to go windsurfing, on a wine tour or horse riding. But there are so many more possibilities. Once you’ve decided on a destination, research all the new and exciting things you and the girls can do in the local area.
Create a bucket list
At the end of the day, the most important thing for your holiday is that you are your friends have a fantastic time. It’s a great idea to create a mini bucket list for your girls’ holiday. Come together and agree on a list of things you all want to do and see while you are abroad and make it your mission to tick off every item on the list.
It’s easy to get stuck in a holiday rut. However, it’s not always easy to get out of it! Things that are familiar are comforting. But just think, there’s a whole world out there of other beautiful destinations and exciting activities and they are just waiting to be discovered by you and your friends.
